Assoc. Prof. Sami Emrah GEREKTEN, (Ph.D.)

He graduated from Fine Arts High School Music Department and Faculty of Education Music Teaching Department. His master's thesis is on the maqamal analysis of Anatolian folk songs. His doctoral thesis focuses on producing a teaching model based on exercises and etudes on the tuning types of the bağlama/saz (Turkic lute) instrument. He worked as a music teacher for 10 years in different cities of Anatolia. Since 2021, he has been working as a lecturer in higher education institutions in Turkey. His scientific publications are in the fields of educational sciences, music education, teaching and learning in Turkish Folk Music and teaching bağlama/saz. His artistic activities focus on an interpretation that focuses on the interaction of makam dynamics with the diversity of string arrangements of the bağlama/saz.
